THE BASELINE CODE

Use the baseline code available on this site, as your starting point.

THE BASELINE CODE

On this website, we have provided a baseline system of unfoldings. These deal with very fundamental matters, such as land, diagnosis, topography, relationship to adjacent buildings, relations of building volumes to outdoor space, internal layout, room shape, stairs, windows, doors, ornament, and many construction details and procedures.

CHOOSE UNFOLDINGS FROM THE BASELINE CODE

Most of these baseline unfoldings are practical, and useful, and true, in a great variety of different places on earth, in cities and in small towns, and in a variety of cultures and traditions -- even though they will undoubtedly need modification or some local variant to make sure the generic version fits and is useful in the local context.

REMOVE UNFOLDINGS FROM THE BASELINE CODE

This situation is quite similar to recently discovered aspects of genetics. It is now known that human beings and widely different organisms, including fish and birds, even insects, share 70% of their genes.

PRINT THE ONES YOU WANT AND COLLECT THEM IN YOUR WORKBOOK

Thus, though it seems amazing, enormously different creatures use the same base system of genes, and then a few (or relatively few) special genes combine with the shared core of genes, to generate a vast range of different and coherent organisms of entirely different types.

OR COLLECT THE ONES YOU WANT BY PICKING AND CHOOSING FROM THE BASELINE SEQUENCE ON THE DRAWING PAD

Thus it is not far fetched at all, to say that our baseline code could form a starting point for all environments, or for most environments, since the overall buildings and neighborhoods that will be generated, can be tuned to local conditions, merely by adding in or replacing a few of the unfoldings which are not quite right for that place.

ADD NEW UNFOLDINGS WHICH YOU WRITE YOURSELF, TO THE SEQUENCE

Thus it is not far fetched at all, to say that our baseline code could form a starting point for all environments, or for most environments, since the overall buildings and neighborhoods that will be generated, can be tuned to local conditions, merely by adding in or replacing a few of the unfoldings which are not quite right for that place.

ONCE AGAIN, YOU CAN ALSO ADD THEM TO THE SEQUENCE IN THE DRAWING PAD

Thus it is not far fetched at all, to say that our baseline code could form a starting point for all environments, or for most environments, since the overall buildings and neighborhoods that will be generated, can be tuned to local conditions, merely by adding in or replacing a few of the unfoldings which are not quite right for that place.

YOU MAY GET HELP IN WRITING YOUR OWN UNFOLDINGS,
from culture.htm, from poeticpl.htm, from entities.htm, and from other steps in this part of the code.
